Hmm, I don’t know what young books shaped me? Possibly Nancy Drew and Mickey Spillane. And Waiting for Daphne, which is the first bk I read w/out a happy ending. THAT stuck w/ me for yrs.

Nice list. Island of the Blue Dolphins had a big effect on me, but so did the works of Judy Blume, R.L. Stine and Beverly Clearly, even The Babysitters Club and Bridge to Terabithia. A Wrinkle in Time and (don’t ask) V.C. Andrews. Too many more to count.
